Add On Services Fabric Protection An after cleaning add on that helps reduce resoiling, slows down wear and tear, retards staining, and can actually make carpet look better. Sprayed onto a freshly cleaned carpet, fabric protection is like a plastic suspended in a carrier, either water or solvent depending on your fabrics requirements. The carrier than dries out, binding the "plastic" to the fiber, and filling in tiny pits, scratches, and imperfections in the fiber. This gives soils less places to hide, making vacuuming more effective, and reducing the build up of soil that way. It also prevents gritty soils from cutting into the fiber from those same hiding places. By filling breaches in the fiber strand, materials that stain, like mustard or kids drinks, have a harder time getting inside the fiber where they can leave permanent stains. Light will reflect more evenly off of a smoother fiber surface than off of a scratched one, making the carpet actually look more like it did when it was new. Acetic Acid Rinse Rinsing with an acidic solution reverses the alkaline pH of a detergent, leaving it neutral, and can make a carpet feel softer. This rinse is required on wool carpets, especially expensive area rugs, in order to prevent high pH from ruining the wool. Defoamer Rinse Reverses the effects of soapy buildup, especially in carpets that have been spot treated by an untrained cleaner. Especially useful when cleaning behind a shampooer. Specialty Spot and Stain Removal Latex paint, rust, red stains, and heavy pet urine can resist most cleaning attempts. Sometimes a mystery spot will also require some expertise to figure out what it will take to get it out. Our trucks are equipped to remove anything and everything they come across, although some of these services can get fairly time consuming and costly. Carpet Grooming Some people believe that grooming a carpet will speed the drying process. Although we have tested this on several occasions and disproved the theory, we do know that it sure changes how the finished product looks. We have found that the further East a client comes from, the more that client wants carpet grooming performed. The further West they come from, the more they prefer the even triangles a seasoned professional leaves behind. Being based in Arizona, and therefore being pretty far west, we tend to leave a carpet ungroomed, and offer grooming as an add on service. Disinfectant Generally not required, some people have a legitimate medical need for this service.
